Good Morning, Second Graders!
PHONICS: I hope you had a chance to preview the words for Unit 25 this week. We will have two lists this week with two different rules (Unit 25 and Unit 26). You can find the frieze card for Unit 25 here. You can see that there are base words (nouns) and when we add +y, the words become adjectives. Use what you have learned from previous phonics lessons (endings) to create your own chart using the words from the Unit 25 word list here. Your word list will have two columns just like the frieze card. 1. base word and 2. base word + y. Go ahead and add Days 1, 2, 3, and 4 to your chart for practice.
READING: Do one episode of Headsprout, 20 minutes of LevelUp on RazKids. Login to Freckle and do one assignment. If you have time, explore some of the practice options within Freckle and check your mailbox on Epic.
WRITING: Take a look at the next video on Realistic Fiction.

You already have some ideas to write about and have read several example books. Remember at the beginning of the year when we read Owl Moon? The author uses great descriptions and details to let the reader feel part of the story. Can you think of an interesting introduction for your story? Reread Owl Moon below to refresh your memory. In Owl Moon, it was snowing. What is the weather like in your story? Rainy, sunny, stormy, pollen?
MATH: You have a new assignment in Freckle called "Partition Shapes." Remember to keep working in Zearn and First in Math at your own pace.
Social Studies: Have you finished learning about Jimmy Carter? If you have completed week 29 then you can move on to week 30 for more information about Jimmy Carter.
Remember to create a student account on ClassDojo.
